The Three Mills, Wigan

The Three Mills Beer & Ale House is the first permanent opening within the £250m Cotton Works masterplan, a landmark regeneration project transforming Wigan’s iconic Eckersley Mill. Set across 4,500 sq ft in the Grade II listed building, the venue reimagines the traditional pub with a modern twist, featuring a 14-line tap wall, rotating cask ales, and a nostalgic, quality-led food menu.

Next Phase was engaged by the Heaton Group to lead on every aspect of the project, from brand identity and concept development to operational planning, drinks strategy, and delivery. Every detail, from the reclaimed Yorkstone flooring to the house cocktail list, has been carefully curated to create a space that feels both timeless and fresh.

The Three Mills sets the tone for the wider Cotton Works vision, a bold, independent-led destination that celebrates heritage while redefining what’s possible for town centre regeneration.
